 Testimony

Have you ever had to give “testimony” in court? It is just what you swear to be true, so help you God. It is not always fun to do in court, but in life we are always giving “testimony” to what we believe is true by the lives we live. On this my website I want to tell you just a little of what I have learned about life, much of it the hard way.

Since this is a singer’s web site, let’s start first with,

 Singing:

I have learned that my voice is a gift from God, that I don’t own it, should not take credit for it, but am responsible for it. My voice was literally given to me. I did not spend years developing it in a conservatory. It came totally as a gift. I then had to learn how to use it and later how it worked. Some people call this a “natural” voice but to me it is not at all “natural.” It is supernatural, a gift from the giver of all good things. Don’t take credit for your voice. Don’t identify with your voice. If you do you will become either egotistical or depressed depending on your state of development. View your voice as a gift that you have been given to care for and use well.

Teaching:

I have learned to love teaching voice as one way of sharing God’s love. I love all of my students and I teach them how to get access to their voices. I cannot create voices, but I can help the student get access to the voice he has been given. That is a work I take very seriously because it is the work God has given me to do. The reason for this web site  is to share singing with people in a way that will also share the love of God.
